James F. "Larry" Ray, 77, of Fort Myers, Fla., formerly of Louisville and New Haven, passed away Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, in Fort Myers.
He is a U.S. Army
veteran, member of St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church in Fort Myers, graduate of University of Louisville, and retired chemical engineer for Zeon Chemical Company with 30 years of service.
He was born June 4, 1935, the son of the late William Cooper and Mary Dorothy Medley Ray.
He is survived by two sons, William J. "Bill" (Terri)?Ray of Memphis, Ind., and James L. Ray of Louisville; three daughters, Kim (Hollis) Smith of Louisville, Sandi (Chris) Streicher of Goshen and Terri (Alex) Reymundo of Prospect; five sisters, Betty Johnson of Louisville, Billie Joyce (Charlie)?Alvey of New Haven, June Carol (Jerry) Mahoney of New Haven, Mary Ann (Bill)?Cahoe of Louisville and Dolly Ray of Louisville; nine grandchildren, Ashley, Lizzy, Katie, Christopher, Alexandra, Christian, Michael, Adam and Walter; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Mass of Christian burial for James F. "Larry" Ray is 11 a.m. Thursday,?Dec. 6, at St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church in New Haven. Rev. Troy Overton will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church Cemetery in New Haven. The prayer service is 6 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of William R. Rust Funeral Home, 167 N. Main St., New Haven. Deacon Eddie Hutchins will officiate.
Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5 and 8 a.m. until time of service on Thursday, Dec. 6 at the funeral home.
