Martha Jane (Warren) Skaggs

Martha Jane Warren Skaggs, 99, of Radcliff, formerly of Owensboro and Buffalo, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, July 8, 2013.
Denied sight in the last years of her earthly life, she now sees in the presence of the Lord whom she loved and served. She was a member of Valley View Baptist Church in Vine Grove and a former member of Mount Tabor Baptist Church and Buffalo Eastern Star. She had a great sense of humor and loved her family and being outdoors gardening and fishing.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard E. Skaggs; a son, Jimmie Skaggs; three sisters, Ora Dewitt, Sylvia Purvis and Stella Slayton; a brother, Rev. Clarence E. Warren Sr.; and two great-grandchildren.
She is survived by a daughter, Barbara Easton of Radcliff; a son, Joe Wayne (Noyce) Skaggs of Hodgenville; a sister, Zora Slayton of Corydon, Ind.; a brother, Edward (Dorothy) Warren of Frankfort; nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom are better for the love and example she shared.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Friday, July 12, 2013, at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with Pastor Shawn Edwards and Bro. Doug Boyles officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Tabor Church Cemetery near Buffalo.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Thursday and after 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
