Virginia (Middleton) Marcum

Virginia Middleton Marcum, 101, of Hodgenville, passed away Monday, July 15, 2013, at her residence.
She and her husband, Morgan Marcum, owned and operated Middleton & Marcum in Hodgenville for several years. Mrs. Marcum was the oldest and longest active member of First Baptist Church in Hodgenville, member of the Hodgenville Woman's Club, Sunrise Manor Volunteers, and the Lincoln Days Celebration.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Morgan Marcum; her parents, William Henry ""Bill"" and Effie Wootton Middleton; two sisters, Alma Middleton and Marjorie Middleton; and a brother, Walter W. Middleton.
She is survived by two sons, John Marcum of Hodgenville and Steve Marcum of Houston, Texas; and a sister, Dorothy ""Dot"" Kargle of Hodgenville.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Saturday, July 20, 2013, at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with the Rev. George Smith and Carolyn Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Red Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
