William Gary Crain, 65, of Dawson Springs, formerly of Hodgenville, passed away at 8 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 15, 2013, at his home.
He was a United States Army veteran serving at Fort Knox. He retired from Fire Equipment Company in Louisville, KY where he worked for more than 20 years. He was an avid fisherman and will be deeply missed by all whose lives were touched by his presence. He was of the Methodist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse Hubert Crain and Mary Alice Metcalf Crain; maternal grandparents, Bernard Metcalf and Sarah "Maggie" Aubrey Metcalf; paternal grandparents, Elza Crain and Gertrude Logsdon Crain; his brother, Richard Crain; his sister, Malissa Crain Combs; and his brother-in-law, George Christian.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Pamela McLemore Crain; his daughter, Laurie (David) Crain Turner; his step-son, William Latham; his step-daughter, Kristal (Brian) Richardson; his granddaughter, Brittany Richardson; his grandson, Landon Turner; his brothers, Darrell (Susie) Crain, Randy (Maryann) Crain both of Hodgenville, and Lanny Crain of Arizona; his sister, Judy (Robert) Harris of Elizabethtown; his brother-in-laws, Jerry (Doris) McLemore of Jacksonville, Fla., and Joe Combs of Louisville; his sister-in-law, Cherrie Christian; nine nieces and 11 nephews.
The funeral is 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2013, in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville with Bro. Brian Richardson officiating. Burial will follow in Grapevine Cemetery in Madisonville.
Visitation is 10 a.m. until the funeral hour Wednesday at Harris Funeral Home.
