William T. ""Billy"" Brooks Jr., 85, of Buffalo, passed away Monday, Jan. 20, 2014, at Sunrise Manor Nursing Home in Hodgenville.

An Army veteran, he was a member of Buffalo Baptist Church, a farmer and retired postmaster at Buffalo Post Office after 31 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William T. Brooks Sr. and Tommie Hickerson Brooks; and a sister, Eileen Rogers.
He is survived by his wife, Dixie Crump Brooks; a daughter, Debbie Holt of Hodgenville; three sons, Willie (Kim) Brooks of Smithland, Bobby (Alison) Brooks of Buffalo and Charlie (Alexandrea) Brooks of Chicago; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014, at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with Rev. Gordon McDowell officiating. Burial will follow in Buffalo Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and after 9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
