Austin Gene "Boss" Wise, 85, of Sonora, passed away Saturday January 30, 2016 at Hospice Inpatient Care Center in Louisville.
He was born November 30, 1930 in Elizabethtown to Joe and Mary Francis Wise. Boss was born and raised in Elizabethtown in Hardin County. He was a former Hodgenville city foreman, Larue County foreman, owner and operator of W&W Construction, a Kentucky Colonel and a great neighbor and friend.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, James Austin "Jimmy" Wise; one daughter, Debra Kay; one grandson, Justin Ross Holbert; three brothers Everett, Raymond and Clifford "Lewis" and two sisters, Mary Ruth Kilgus and Margaret Virginia "Peggy" Hawkins.
He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Opal Miller Wise; three daughters, Ruby Calloway, Wanda E. (Willie) Holbert and Tracy (Troy) Bush; six grandchildren, Bridgette (Rocky) Ewing Holbert Blair, Doug Wise, Jaret (Jennie) Calloway, Santana Sanders, Stephen (Megan) Bush and Matt Bush; seven great-grandchildren, Whitley Milby, Ally (Tyler) Jones, Dennis Austin Calloway, Lillyan Faith Blair, Lily Sanders, Andy Sanders, Keagan James Bush and his beloved dog, Missy.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, February 3 at Manakee Funeral Home in Elizabethtown with Reverend Scott Kerr officiating. Burial will be held at the Sonora Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, February 2 and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, February 3 at the Funeral Home.
