Dr. Donald "Don" Lee Berry, 64, of Hodgenville, left this Earth on June 7, 2013, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown, and is now praising and worshipping God in Heaven! He bravely fought a nine month battle with cancer.
The Guest Book is expired.
He was born Nov. 25, 1948, in Hodgenville, Ky., to James Roy and Mary Lee Watson Berry.
Don was a member of Calvary Assembly of God in Elizabethtown, where he served on the church board, was a Sunday school teacher, and also served as the worship leader for more than 14 years, leading many into the Presence of the Lord. He also enjoyed fishing and playing guitar. Many evenings he would get on his guitar with the Lord and have his own private worship time.
Don was a graduate of the University of Kentucky and Auburn University. He began his veterinary practice in 1974 at the LaRue County Animal Clinic and was still practicing last week.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Roy and Mary Lee Watson Berry, and a brother, Robert Lynn Berry.
He is survived by his wife and best friend of 35 years, Sherlyn, who shared his passion for Jesus. They worked together as a team in praise and worship. He is also survived by three sisters, Barbara (Larry) Wright of Hodgenville, Sandy (Richard) Lafollette of New Haven, and Patty (Mark) Jones of Elizabethtown; two brothers, Steve (Judy) Berry of Hodgenville and Mike Berry of Elizabethtown; several nieces and nephews; and some amazing prayer partners who are our brothers and sisters in Christ.
A Celebration of Life service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 11, 2013, at Calvary Assembly of God in Elizabethtown with Pastor Jeff Schexneider, Dr. Sam Pike, Denny Whitworth and Donnie Blair officiating.
