Retired Senior Master Sgt. James Arthur Kessler, 74, of Magnolia, passed away Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville.

He retired from the Kentucky Air National Guard, was a member of South Fork Baptist Church and the Sunrise Volunteers and a Kentucky Colonel.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rupert Earl and Lucille Rose Schmidt Kessler; a granddaughter, Amber Dawn Howard; and a sister, Dottie Duckworth.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sylvia Martin Kessler; four daughters, Lina Rea (Anthony) Hamilton of Mum, Fla., Karen Lee (Mark Charles) Walker of New Castle, Va., Lisa Rose (Steve) Howard of Brooks and Nancy Suzanne (Edward) Lane of Buffalo; seven grandchildren, Kimberly Woosley, Kristin Cook, Adam Cook, Shelbie Howard, Savannah Howard, Mason Lane and Amaris Lane; and five great-grandchildren.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 18, 2013, at South Fork Baptist Church with Rev. Jonathan Carl and Rev. Ed Lane officiating. Burial will follow in South Fork Church Cemetery.
Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday and after 8 a.m. Monday at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home.
