Jane Skaggs Abell, 86, of Buffalo, passed away Oct. 26, 2012, in Hodgenville.
Jane was a life-long member of Mount Tabor Baptist Church where she served as Sunday school secretary for many years. She clerked for Atherton's Sales Service and worked in retail at Hodgenville Dry Goods, McCaleb's and Ray's. She was a cancer survivor of 32 years and participated in Relay for Life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rhea Hill Abell; and her parents, Walter and Cora Howell Skaggs.
She is survived by one daughter, Betsy Tucker; two grandsons, Glenn (Vickki) Tucker and Mark (Shelly) Tucker; four great-grandchildren, Ben, Sam, Ella and Emma; one sister, Alene DeSpain; one brother, Ernest Brown Skaggs; one aunt, Cynthia Carter; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; and a caregiver, Megan Glass.
The funeral is at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 29, at Rust-Wright Funeral Home, 612 N. Lincoln Blvd., Hodgenville, with Rev. Carlis Compton and Barry Fields officiating with burial to follow in Mount Tabor Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation is from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28 at the funeral home and continues 9 a.m. until time of service Monday.
Expressions of sympathy may be sent to Mount Tabor Church Christian Life Center or Mount Tabor Baptist Church Cemetery.
