Janet Madaline Hutcherson Marcum, 70, of Magnolia, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, October 22, 2017 at U.K. Healthcare in Lexington with her family by her side.
Janet was of the Baptist faith and she was a member of first Baptist Church. Janet was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was avid in genealogy, she belonged to the Historical Society, she belonged to Homemakers where she received woman of the year, she loved Quilting and also was a basket maker where she won grand champion at the State Fair. She was born February 1, 1947 in Hardin County to Eugene and Geneva Mae Hornback Hutcherson.
Janet is preceded in death by her mother, Geneva Mae Hornback Hutcherson.
She is survived by her husband, James Harold Marcum of Magnolia; two sons, Harold B. (Bonetta) Marcum of Magnolia and Reverend Frederick Daniel (Laura) Marcum of Greensburg; one daughter, Susan Marcum of Priceville; her father, Eugene Hutcherson of Buffalo; one brother, Ronald Eugene (Gene) Hutcherson of Bardstown; three sisters, Patsey Saddler, Marie (Danny) Puckett and Eugenia (John) Mills all of Elizabethtown; eight grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services for Janet Madaline Hutcherson Marcum will be held Wednesday October 25, 2017 at 11 a.m. at William R. Rust Funeral Home Hodgenville Chapel, with Brother Melvin Morrtisen and Brother Lee Warf officiating with burial to follow in South Fork Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 24 from 5 to 8 p.m. and will continue Wednesday after 9 am until time of service at the funeral home
