Joseph Louis Brey 85, of Howardstown, Kentucky, passed away January 31, 2018 at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.
Louis was a Catholic by faith, and Army veteran he was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, he was a retired employee of Owen Illinois formerly known as Lilly Tulip with 31 + years of service. Louis was born in Howardstown to the late John and Josephine Nalley Brey.
Louis was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, John E. Brey and three sisters, Elizabeth Greenwell, Doris Clan, and Beulah Mae Devers.
Louis is survived by his wife, Irene Thornsberry Brey of Howardstown; three sons, Tony (Laura) Brey of Cox's Creek, Mike (Donna) Brey of Howardstown, and Jack (Karen) Brey of Hodgenville; two sisters, Aggie (David) Jinnett of Hodgenville, Gail (Billy) Neagle of Elizabethtown; two brothers, Ramey (Jackie) Brey of White City, and Kenneth (Carol) Brey of Clermont; two sisters, Nancy Devers of Hodgenville, and Rita (Kenneth) Gibson of Magnolia; nine grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and one on the way, two step-grandchildren and two step great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday February 3, 2018 at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Howardstown with Father Ken Fortener officiating. Burial will follow in St. Ann's Cemetery in Howardstown.
Visitation for Joseph Louis Brey will be Friday February 2, 2018 from 3 to 8 p.m. with prayer service at 4 p.m. with Deacon Jim Cecil officiating at William R. Rust Funeral Home Hodgenville Chapel 612 N. Lincoln Blvd. Hodgenville, Kentucky
