Lorene Elkins, 97, of Hodgenville, formerly of Magnolia, passed away, Saturday, March 11, 2017 at the Sunrise Manor Nursing Home in Hodgenville.
She was a member of Magnolia Baptist Church and was the retired postmaster at the Magnolia Post Office after several years of service.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Kenneth Elkins; two sisters, Sudie Alice Chaudoin and Ruby Whitlow; a brother, Jessie Raymond Jones and her parents, J. Elly and Betty Ella Ragland Jones.
She is survived by a daughter, Jorene (Rev. Kenneth) Garrison of Hodgenville; a son, Bobby (Ann) Elkins of Richmond; four grandchildren, Robin Gallaway, Scott (Paula) Elkins, David (Diana) Garrison and Derek (Nancy) Garrison; four great-grandchildren, Reagan Elle Read, Reanna Read, Jessica (Chris) McVey and Jarod (Ashley) Elkins; five great-great-grandchildren, Kendall Read, Haylee Hunt, Lane Elkins, Kyleigh Read and Conner McVey and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at the Dixon-Rogers Funeral Home in Magnolia with Chaplain Steve Priddy officiating. Burial will follow in the Magnolia Cemetery.
Visitation will begin after 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home until time for services.
