Mary Jean "Jeannie" Boone Hagan, 93, of New Haven, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2014, at her residence in New Haven.
She was born July 17, 1921, in LaRue County, the daughter of the late W.J. and Mary Josephine Greenwell Boone. She was a lifelong member of Saint Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church in New Haven, the Saint Catherine Altar Society and active member of the Community Bereavement Room.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Hagan; one son, Joseph Larry "Squad" Hagan; three brothers, Joseph A. Boone, Frederick Boone and Joe Bill Boone; four sisters, Margie Johnson, Edna Marie Newcomb, Sister Aloise Boone, OSU, Sister Mary Regina Boone OSU, and Cecilia Boone Johnson.
She is survived by five sons, George Hagan of Austin, Texas, Robert Hagan of Gainesville, Florida, James Hagan of Hopewell Junction, New York, Ray Hagan of Elizabethtown, and Charles Hagan of Bloomfield; five daughters, Jo Ann Guerrant of Edmond, Oklahoma, Louise Nader of Brazil, Jean Marie Hutcherson of Bardstown, Rose Mary Greenwell of Bardstown, and Margaret Braun of Xenia, Ohio; four sisters, Sister Joseph Angela Boone OSU, Catherine Keene, Josephine Dworza and Theresa Marie Thompson; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial for Mary Jean "Jeannie" Boone Hagan will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, 2014, at Saint Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church in New Haven with Rev. Troy Overton officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24, and 9 a.m. until time of service Saturday, Oct. 25, at William R. Rust Funeral Home, 167 N. Main St., New Haven. A prayer service will be 6 p.m. Friday in the chapel of the William R. Rust Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to the painting of St. Catherine Of Alexandria Catholic Church.
