Michael G. "Mike" Clopton, 60, of Louisville passed away Friday, May 20, 2016 at Norton Audubon Hospital in Louisville.
Mike enjoyed the study of genealogy and was a member of the Filson Club. He was also a member of the Peniel Missonary Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alberta and Creed Clopton; and his step mother: Alene Clopton and his brother, Phillip E. Clopton.
Left to cherish his memory is his nephew: Jason (Lewanna) Clopton of New Albany, IN; great niece, Katelynn Clopton of New Albany, IN; great nephew: Matthew Clopton of New Albany, IN; two aunts, Margie French of Hodgenville and Sally Clopton of Mt. Sherman; family friends, Marquita Clopton of New Albany, IN and Michelle Compton of Louisville; neighbors, Victor and Michelle Ware of Louisville and several cousins and friends
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 24 at William R. Rust Funeral Home Chapel in Hodgenville with Reverend Shannon McCubbins officiating. Burial will follow in Benningfield Chapel Cemetery in Mt. Sherman, Kentucky.
Visitation will be held Tuesday May 24 after 11:00 a.m. at the William R. Rust Funeral Home in Hodgenville until time of service.
In lieu of flowers family request donations be made to Crusade for Children in Mike's name.
