Paul Daniel Burress Sr., 80, of Bardstown, formerly of Boston, Ky., passed away Friday, June 14, 2013, at Flaget Memorial Hospital.

He was a farm and milk hand for more than 30 years, retiring from Harvey & Wanda Hayden Dairy Farm in Boston, and was a member of First Cedar Creek Baptist Church in Bardstown. He was born Feb. 6, 1933, in Wenfall, Va., the son of the late John Thomas and Rose Ethel Lee Burress. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, having received a Purple Heart.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Anna Belle Hellard Burress; a granddaughter, Madison Burress; eight brothers, Harvey Burress, Frankie Burress, Clyde Burress, Henry Burress, William Burress, Holbert Burress, Oliver Burress and Thomas Burress; and three sisters, Virginia Burress, Helen Buskill and Lila Wimmer.
He is survived by a son, Paul Daniel Burress Jr. of Bardstown; a daughter, Paula Ann Burress of Hodgenville; two grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The funeral for Paul Daniel Burress Sr. is at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 18, 2013, at First Cedar Creek Baptist Church in Bardstown with the Rev. Freddie Riggs, pastor of the Faith Worship Center in Bardstown, officiating. Burial follows in First Cedar Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Bardstown with full military rites provided by the Marion County Honor Guard.
Visitation is from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 17, 2013, at William R. Rust Funeral Home, Boston Chapel, at 12783 Boston Road, Boston, Ky.; and 9 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at First Cedar Creek Baptist Church.
