Richard Gordon Mathieson, 82, of Hodgenville, passed away Monday, March 10, 2014, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.
He was an Army veteran, served in Korea, retired from Civil Service at Fort Knox in the Treasury Department, and a loved member of Hodgenville United Methodist Church where he was known for his coffee making.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Louise Thomas Mathieson in 2001, and his parents, LeRoy and Grace Coulder Mathieson.
He is survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and his church family and friends.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Friday, March 14, 2014, at William R. Rust Funeral Home, Hodgenville Chapel, with Bro. Harry Spurrier, Bro. Bob Howell, Bro. Roger Newell and Bro.?Carlton Puyear officiating. Burial will follow at Buffalo Cemetery.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Thursday, March 13, and continue until time of service on Friday.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Hodgenville United Methodist Church, Tonieville Road, Hodgenville.
