Ruby McDowell Heady, 76, of Hodgenville, passed away, Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at the Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.

She was a member of First Baptist Church, Hodgenville.
She operated Fantasyland Day Care for 16 years, and because of her love for children was able to touch the lives of more than 140 children during those years.
Her favorite pastime was genealogy research. She loved the history of families and how we are all intertwined. Her love of family was evident by listening to her talk about her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy Edward McDowell and Dorothy DeSpain McDowell Howell.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Robert L. "Bobby" Heady, two daughters, Debbie (Donnie) Dickerson of Magnolia and Karen (Stuart) Singleton of Louisville, a son, Jeff (Cindy) Heady of Magnolia, three brothers, Ray (Von) McDowell, Jimmie (Liane) McDowell, and Mike (Chris) Howell all of Hodgenville, seven grandchildren, Kristin (Chris) Estes, Emily (Josh) Morris, Morgan Dickerson, Ellen (Bryan) Shelton, Christopher Singleton, Meredith Dickerson, and Erin (Ryan) Bratcher, and six great-grandchildren, Riley and Hadley Morris, Maddie and Brayden Estes, Ellie Shelton, and Hunter Bratcher.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, October 19, 2013 at the First Baptist Church, Hodgenville with Bro. Sid Lewis, Dr. Paul Richey and Rev. Kyle Page officiating. Burial will follow in the Red Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday and 9-10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville.
