James Richard Williams, 72, of Hodgenville, went to be with his Heavenly Father Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012, at Kindred Hospital in Louisville.

James was born Feb. 2, 1940, in Hodgenville. The son of the late James Henry Williams was a member of First Baptist Church of Hodgenville, a veteran of the U.S. Army serving several years and retired from Elizabethtown Sportswear in Elizabethtown after 15 years of service. He attended LaRue County High School.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Henry Williams; paternal grandparents, James Henry Sr. and Carrie Bethel Williams; maternal grandparents, Hobart and Mary Geneva Goodin; cousin, Stanley Goodin Jr.; and aunt, Cleo Bethel.
He is survived by his mother, Julia Mae Dunn Cox of Hodgenville; an uncle, Stanley Goodin Sr. of Hodgenville; several cousins; and a host of friends.
The funeral service for James Richard Williams will be at 11 a.m. Oct. 27 in the chapel of Rust-Wright Funeral Home, 612 N. Lincoln Blvd., Hodgenville with Rev. Aaron Ross officiating. Burial will follow in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central, 2501 N.?Dixie Blvd., Radcliff.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26 and 9 a.m. until time of service Saturday at Rust-Wright Funeral Home in Hodgenville.
