It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Eduviges "Vicky" G. Garcia, 72, of Brazito, New Mexico, on Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at the Advanced Care Hospital of Southern New Mexico surrounded by her loving family. She was born November 27, 1939 in Julimes, Chihuahua, Mexico to Teodoro and Isabel Pando Gallegos. "Vicky" as she was fondly known to her family and friends married Geronimo Garcia on October 1, 1961 and shortly after moved to Faywood, New Mexico for a short while where she gave birth to her oldest son, Jose, and then the family moved to Brazito. She retired from the Knitting Department of Legg's Hosiery. Mrs. Garcia enjoyed her birds and was an avid gardener. She especially enjoyed bingo and going to the casinos but her passion was her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren whom she dearly adored. She was a member of the Catholic Church,

Those left to mourn her passing include son, George Garcia of Mesquite; a sister, Guadalupe Gomez of Las Cruces, New Mexico; her daughter-in-law, Delia Regalado also of Las Cruces; a special family friend, Jaime Alonzo of Tortugas, New Mexico. Other survivors include three grandchildren, Minerva Garcia and companion Miguel Romero, Jr, Linda Baylon and husband Jose, Sr., Joseph Anthony Garcia and companion Mercy Villa; seven great grandchildren, Vicente Garcia, Izayah Garcia, Jose Baylon, Jr., Alivia Romero, Isabel Baylon, Isaiah Villa and Jailynn Garcia, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Geronimo Garcia; two sons, Jose and Geronimo "Jerry" Garcia Jr., two brothers, Juan and Sisto Gallegos and a close friend, Eufemia Garcia.
Services were held in San Miguel Catholic Church with Reverend Tom Smith officiating. The Rite of Committal and Interment followed in the San Miguel Cemetery where she was laid to rest.
Serving as casket bearers will be Joseph Garcia, Jaime Villaseñor, Daniel Ortega, Jaime Garcia, Leopoldo Gomez, and Michael Valenzuela. Honorary bearers will be Jaime Alonzo, Eddie Ogas, Eddie Ortega, Sergio Chavez, Edward and Hector Moreno.
