Loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt Maria Marcelina Urioste-Velasquez, 71, and lifelong resident of Tecolotito peacefully passed away at her home on Friday, April 11, 2014.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Quirino and Maria Eloisa Urioste; brother, Elauterio Urioste; sister, Maria Lenora Urioste; nephews, nieces, aunts and uncles.
Marcelina is survived by her spouse, Joe Velasquez of Tecolotito; daughter, Debbie E. Gomez (Lawrence "Uraca") of Tecolotito; special nephews who she raised, Benerito Urioste (Ruby), and Cano I. Villanueva (Andrea) of Tecolotito; grandson, Lawrence Gomez Jr. (Angie) of Idaho; and granddaughter, Yvonne E. Gomez ("Tiny") of Tecolotito; great grandchildren, Lorenzo I. Gomez, Rudy E. Gomez, Fabian O. Saiz, Estevan, Marshall, and Sheby Patterson; sisters, Antonia Madrid (Tobias, deceased), Rita U. Romero (Andalecio, deceased), Erlinda Urioste (Prudencio, deceased); special caregiver and niece, Crystal Villanueva (Tony). She is also survived by loved nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Funeral services for Marcelina were held today (Monday) at the San Jose Catholic Church in Anton Chico. Burial followed at the Upper Anton Chico Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers, Cano I. Villanueva, Leandro "Tiny" Primero, Lorenzo Gomez, Peter Urioste, Nick Urioste and Domingo Villanueva.
