Joshua ""Josh"" P. Garcia, 35, a longtime resident of Las Vegas, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012 in Las Vegas.
He was born in Hillsboro, Ore. on Jan. 5, 1977, to Paul Garcia and Susie Fernandez-Garcia.
He was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, godfather and friend. He was currently the head coach for the West Las Vegas Middle School football team, the head coach of the Mora girls softball team, his daughter Kianna's personal pitching coach and coach of his traveling softball team the ""Lady Rebels."" He formerly was an assistant coach for The Mora Rangers football team, Las Vegas Little League team and All-Star teams both baseball and softball, head umpire for the Las Vegas Little League and he played for the Outlaw and Rebel semi-pro football teams.
He was an avid Chicago Bears and Oregon Ducks fan. He enjoyed taking his children to rodeos.
He is preceded in death by his aunt: Rosalie Garcia; uncle: Ernest Garcia; paternal-grandfather: Paul Garcia; paternal-grandmother: Corrine Solano-Garcia; uncle: Juan R. Fernandez; mother-in-law: Lillian Martinez; and cousin: Danny Garcia.
He is survived by his wife: Roxanne R. Garcia; son: Tyler Garcia; daughters: Inez Garcia and Kianna Gallegos all of the family home; parents: Paul and Susie Garcia of Las Vegas; maternal grandmother: Inez Susana Fernandez of Mora; brother: Jared Garcia and fiancee Vanessa Lucero; sister: Sarah Garcia and boyfriend Wayne Peralta; sister-in-law: Valerie A. Martinez all of Las Vegas; father-in-law: Arthur L. Martinez of Albuquerque; niece and goddaughter: Sofia Garcia; niece: Ryhanne Martinez; nephew: Robert Garcia, all of Las Vegas; godchildren: Zachary Schab and Lexi Sweatland; and numerous aunts, uncles, other relatives and many, many friends.
Rosary services was to be recited at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 4, at Immaculate Conception Church. Funeral Services were to be conducted at 10 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 5 at the Frank Herrera Football Complex on the West Las Vegas High School campus with Father George V. Salazar as celebrant. Interment will follow at Garcia Family Cemetery in Cañoncito with the following serving as casket bearers: Charles Martinez, Heath Sandoval, Orlando ""OJ"" Marquez, John Fernandez, Javier Lopez, John Joe Schab, Diego Romero and Stephen Aragon. Serving as honorary bearers will be: Manuel Fernandez, Matthew Janssen, Donnie Atkins, T.J. Roybal, Rick Martinez, Kenneth Abeyta, John David Lee, Andy Rubin, Manuel Benavidez, all his current and former football and softball players, all of his fellow coaches and all of his many many friends.
In lieu of flowers, an account at Wells Fargo Bank has been set up for Josh's kids; donations may be sent to Stephen Aragon 2018 Seventh St. Las Vegas, New Mexico 87701.

My condolences to this wonderful family who has lost a great father,friend,and husband. I meet Josh and his wife Roxanne when I worked at The Connection Call Center here in Las Vegas, they were always together for luch time,Josh was known to be seen always with his children,may god bless this children and give them strength to carry their fathers love and happiness throughout their lifes.
