Regina Romero, 51, a longtime resident of Las Vegas passed away Monday, March 3, 2014, at her residence.
Gina was born and raised in Ansbach, Germany on Feb. 17, 1963 to Fredrick Schnabel and Gertrude Glaser Schnabel. She met Clarence Romero and they married on Nov. 11, 1981, in Denmark. They moved to the United States in December of 1982. She had one daughter and two sons, Michelle, Chris, and Jeff. She began working at McDonald's in Las Vegas as a hostess in 1992 where she became the store manager and an icon at the local McDonald's. She loved her job and all the people who touched her heart at McDonald's. She was active at the Immaculate Conception Parish.
She enjoyed fishing, camping, and ranching. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandma. and friend. She has numerous godchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Gina was such an awesome life spirit, she touched the hearts of all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fredrick and Gertrude Schnabel; brother, Diter Schnabel; daughter, Michelle Vanessa Romero; and father-in-law, Max Romero.
She is survived by her husband, Clarence L. Romero of Las Vegas; sons, Chris Romero and Jeff Romero and companion, Danequa Patron of Las Vegas; grandchildren, Aubrey Romero, Krislyn Romero, and, Jacquelyn Romero, all of Las Vegas; sisters: Ursula Walker and husband, Johnny of Orlando, Fla., Heidi Hughes and husband, Howard of Farmerville, La., Giesla Stevens and husband, Charles of Little Rock, Ark., and Christine Yanek and Horst of Ansbach, Germany, brothers, Heinz Schnabel of Ansbach, Germany, Manfrid Wurzinger and wife, Vrone of Feuchtwagen, Germany, Helmut Schnabel of Ansbach, Germany, Reiner Schnabel of Nuremburg, Germany and Gunther Schnabel and wife, Gertrude of Norlingen, Germany; mother-In-law, Rose Duran and husband, Pete of Albuquerque; sisters-in-law, Berna Aguilar and husband, Manuel of Albuquerque, Malissia Romero of Taos; brother-In-law, Mike Uribe of Albuquerque; special friends, Paul and Yolanda Skotchdople of Las Vegas, Anna Randall of Memphis, Texas; Debbie Riddle of Taos, Valerie and Clarence Romero, Father George V. Salazar, Sandra Crespin and Justine Crespin, all of Las Vegas.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Immaculate Conception Church Building Fund, 811 6th Street, Las Vegas, N.M. 87701.
Rosary devotional services will be recited at 7:30 p.m. today (Wednesday) at Immaculate Conception Church in Las Vegas. Funeral Services will be conducted at 9 a.m. Thursday with Rev. George V. Salazar as celebrant. Burial will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery with the following serving as casket bearers: Paul Skotchdople, Brian Skotchdopole, Joseph Crespin, Kenneth Romero, Manuel Aguilar and Vince Howell. Honorary bearers are: Anna Randall, Berna Aguilar, Valerie Romero, Debbie Riddle, Krista Valerio and Sandra Crespin.
