Anna Christine (Jones) Maloney(1928 - 2014)

Anna Christine Jones Maloney was called to be with Our Lord on Friday, May 2, 2014, in Albuquerque.

She was born in Las Vegas, N.M., to David A. and Grethel Andersen Jones on Dec. 4, 1928.

She loved living on her family ranch. Ann loved her horses; she and her siblings spent many happy and mischievous hours on their horses. Ann was also a friend to all animals, rescuing and taking in many strays and mistreated animals, if she had no room for them, she always found a good home for them.

As a young woman, one of her fondest memories was of being a Harvey Girl at The Castañeda Hotel back in its heyday. She also loved roller skating and entered dancing contests with her sister, Dee, even winning some.

Ann was very involved in her church and with her church family. There was no one with a need that was not helped by Ann. She truly was a friend to all. There was also no job too small or big. Ann also was an avid bowler, and loved nothing better than winning.

Anyone who knew Ann knew that winning was the only thing that she accepted. Ann and her teammates won many bowling competitions over the years, and she was very saddened by the closing of the local bowling alley. Ann took on the golf course after her bowling days ended and spent many days on the course. She perfected her game and enjoyed being a part of the golfing community.

Ann is preceded in death by her loving husband of 46 years, John Frank Maloney; her parents: David A. and Grethel Anderson Jones; mother and father-in-law: John A. and Mary Frank Maloney; daughters: Debra K. Sanders and Margaret Jane Maloney; sister: Grethel Jones; brothers: David E. And Robert E. Jones; sister-in-law: Betty Jo Shannon; brothers-in-law: Robert Maloney and JJ Michnovicz.
