Dolores "Lola" Lucero

Dolores (Lola) Lucero, a lifelong resident of Las Vegas, passed away at Christus St. Vincent Hospital in Santa Fe on Friday, March 8, 2013.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Calistero and Ofelia Gallegos Castillo and her husband, Leopoldo Lucero.

She is survived by two daughters, Eva Torrez of Albuquerque and Sandra Baca and Jose of Las Vegas; five sons, Ralph Lucero and wife, Clorinda, of Grants, Daniel Lucero and wife, Marcella, of San Rafael, Leopoldo Lucero of Las Vegas and John and Julian Lucero and wife, Andrea Arellanes-Lucero, all of Albuquerque; 14 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.

She was an Avon distributor for many years and worked for the San Miguel County Nutrition Program. She was a devout Catholic and was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church and a member of the Sacred Heart League. She loved to crochet and sew.

Services will be held at the Immaculate Conception Church this morning (Monday) beginning with a rosary at 9 a.m., followed by the Mass of Christian Burial. Father George V. Salazar will celebrate the mass. The interment will follow in the family plot in Mt. Calvary Cemetery with the following serving as casket bearers: Martin Torrez, Phillip Lucero, Kurtis Baca, Tatiana Lucero, Freddie Gutierrez and Ralph E. Lucero.
