Kevin Luke Garcia, 26, a longtime resident of Las Vegas, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012 in Las Vegas.
He was born in Raton on March 28, 1986, to Gilberto Garcia and Lillian Mondragon-Garcia.
He recently received his culinary of arts degree from Luna Community College. He was a WWE, UFC and Denver Broncos fan, a avid card collector a brown belt in Karate and loved to spend time with his friends.
A lifelong Catholic, he was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church.
He is preceded in death by his grandfather whom he was raised by: Gilberto A. Garcia; uncle and padrino: Jessie Cortez.
He is survived by grandmother who raised him: Lillian Garcia of Las Vegas; father: John Garcia and wife Cecilia of Las Vegas; uncle-padrino: Modesto Garcia and wife Verenda of Tesuque; uncles: Joseph Garcia and wife Edi of Phoenix, Ariz., Patrick Garcia and wife Jackie of Las Vegas; great-aunt-madrina: Virginia Cortez of Raton; cousins: Miguel Garcia of Las Vegas, Elena Garcia of Las Vegas; friends: Nirav Bhakta, Joe Esquibel, Doug Allison, Brandon Aragon and Ryan Abreu all of Las Vegas.
Rosary services were held on Monday, Nov. 5 at Our Lady of Sorrows Church. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at Our Lady of Sorrows Church with Father Douglas Mitchell as celebrant. Interment followed at Rosario Cemetery in Santa Fe.
Serving as casketbearers were: Miguel Garcia, Joe Esquibel, Modesto Garcia, Doug Allison, Patrick Garcia, Joseph Garcia and Nirav Bhakta.
