Mary Hern, 71, passed away on Jan. 20, 2013, after and extended illness.

She was born June 25, 1941, to Luis and Domitilia Roybal.

She worked for Citizens for The Developmentally Disabled for 15 years.

A lifetime Catholic, she was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Las Vegas.

She was preceded in death by her son, Gene K. Hern; parents, Luis and Domitilia Roybal; father- and mother in-law: Fred and Josie Hern; sister, Agnes Roybal; sister-in-law, Carol Romero; nephews, Randy Roybal, Charles Rodarte and Archie Roybal.

She is survived by her husband, Leroy Hern and son, Lepaul Hern; grandchidren, Deanna Hern, Gene Hern and Jayden Hern; brothers and sisters, Pete and Melva Roybal, Willie and Patsy Roybal, Santiago and Mary Alice Roybal, Tony and Lorraine Roybal, David and Thelma Roybal, Corrine and Carlos Rodarte, Grace Roybal; brothers and sisters-in-law, Joe Hern, Clarence Hern, Gerry Gallegos; special nephew and godson, Kenneth Roybal; special goddaughter, Crystal Rae Romero; best friend, Peggy Hoogerhuis; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, great-great-nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles.

Rosary services will be held at 7 p.m. today (Wednesday) at Our Lady of Sorrows Church. Funeral services will be conducted at 9 a.m. on Thursday with Father Douglas Mitchell as celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Anthony's Cemetery in Las Vegas (Eighth St. Extension) with the following serving as casket bearers: Deanna Roybal, Dorrie Gurule, Carla Sanchez, Clarissa Antrillo, Evonne Tafoya, Christina Rodarte, Debra Roybal and Patty Roybal.
