MaryAnn Olguin, 83, a longtime resident of Las Vegas, and formerly of Mora, passed away on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 in Albuquerque.
She was born on Aug. 1, 1930 in Black Lake to Eligio Chavez and Josephina Ybarro.
She was a dietician at Vegas Grandes for 33 years and was also a former food director of the Mora Independent Schools. She enjoyed fishing and going to rodeos.
A lifelong Catholic, she was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Las Vegas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eligio and Josephina Chavez and son, Anthony Robert Olguin.
She is survived by her daughters and sons, Adelaida Maestas and husband, Ramon, of Holman, Olivia Montaño and husband, Robert, of Corrales, Charles Olguin and wife, Vera, of Bernalillo, Gilbert Olguin and wife, Susan, of Michigan, Theresa Olguin of Las Vegas; grandchildren, Gary Maestas, Patrick Maestas, Lawrence Maestas, Michael Montaño, Loretta Montaño, Mario Olguin, Carlos Olguin, Stephanie Pacheco, Adriana Jimenez and Victoria Olguin; numerous great-grandchildren; sisters, Ernestine Ledoux; Sophia Lopez and Jeannie Chavez, all of Denver; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Rosary services will be held at 9 a.m. Friday at St. Gertrude Church in Mora with funeral mass to follow at 9:30 a.m. also at St. Gertrude Church with Father George V. Salazar as celebrant. Interment will follow at Mora Cemetery in Mora. Cremation has taken place.
