Pauline A. Pacheco passed on into the loving arms of our Lord on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, surrounded by her loved ones, after an extended and courageous battle. She was 66.
Pauline was born in Mosquero on Feb. 20, 1946, to Jose and Lorencita Archuleta. She attended school there and graduated from MHS in 1964. She married Arthur Pacheco in August of 1972.
She is survived by her husband Arthur, and three children: Martín Pacheco and wife Susana of Los Lunas, Andrés Pacheco and wife Stephanie of Las Vegas, Margarita Montaño and husband Daniel of Anton Chico; five grandchildren: Damaris Hernandez, Tatiana Iguado, Lorenzo Pacheco, Alondra Pacheco and Giana Pacheco; two-great grandsons: Miquel and Dominic; sisters and brothers: Maria Garcia of Amarillo, Texas, Procopio Archuleta (Tillie) of Clovis, Tomasita Martinez (Navor) and Nick Archuleta (Carrie) of Mosquero, Santana Aragón and Adelina Acosta (Mario) of Tucumcari, Rafaela Arguello (Eloy) of Logan, Abenicio Archuleta of Albuquerque; and many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
Pauline adored children and spent some of her retirement years babysitting. She loved and cared for Julius Martínez and Andrew Urbán as though they were her own. She enjoyed taking the boys for walks, playing outside or teaching them to dance to the music from KNMX radio.
The rosary devotional service and the mass of resurrection will be celebrated on Thursday with the rosary beginning at 10 a.m. and mass to follow, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Mosquero. Interment will follow the mass at St. Joseph Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are her beloved nephews: José Archuleta, José Martínez, Gene Martínez, Matthew Brito, Jaymes Gonzalez, Alejandro Vargas, Jarrod Archuleta and Alonso Acosta. Honorary pallbearers include her grandchildren, great -grandchildren, Julius Martínez and Andrew Urbán.
