Funeral services for Steven Robert Guerin, 59, of Las Vegas will be held today (Friday) at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Rosary will begin at 9 a.m., followed by celebration of the funeral mass by Rev. George Salazar at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
Steven was called home by our Lord on March 1, 2014 after a lengthy illness. He was born in Las Vegas on Nov. 25, 1954, to Hector and Josephine Guerin.
He is preceded in death by his father; grandparents, Manuel and Adelina Larrannaga and Ernest and Eloisa Guerin.
He is survived by his mother, Josephine Guerin of the family home in Las Vegas; siblings, David Guerin (Angela), Paul Guerin (Yvonne), Sue Sullivan (Murphy), and Catherine (Adele) Bartron; and numerous cousins, nephews, and nieces.
He graduated from Robertson High and was a member of the Cardinal baseball team. He enlisted with the U.S. States Marine Corps in 1974 serving his country both in the United States and Japan. He later attained a BA and MBA from NMHU. He worked as a logistics analyst for several aerospace corporations and construction firms throughout his career. Steve was an avid traveler, enjoyed professional sports, hiking, running, and the great outdoors. He now rests in eternal peace.
Honorary bearers will be: Robert and Samuel Larrañaga and Erick, John and Micah Guerin.
