Anthony J. Jaramillo, 63, a resident of Las Vegas, and formerly of Santa Fe, passed away on Nov. 25, 2012.

He was born in Las Vegas on June 19, 1949, to Joe Ponciano Jaramillo and Dora Padilla Jaramillo.
He was honorably discharged after serving in the Army in the Vietnam War from May 9, 1969, to May 7, 1971, and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with Three Bronze Service Stars, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Army Commendation Medal with V Device, Purple Heart, Combat Infantryman Badge, Bronze Star Medal with One Oak Leaf Cluster Marksman (Rifle) and Civil Actions Medal. He was a member of the Santa Fe VFW Post 2951 and he enjoyed fishing and playing Black Jack. He was employed for 25 years by the U.S. Postal Service.
He is preceded in death by his children: Greg and Antoinette Jaramillo; father: Joe Ponciano Jaramillo; and brother: Joseph Jaramillo.
He is survived by his son: Anthony J. Jaramillo, Jr. and wife Annette of Albuquerque; daughter: Cindy Olguin and husband Ezequiel of Santa Fe; mother: Dora Jaramillo of Las Vegas; brother: Leroy Jaramillo and wife Christine of Albuquerque; sister: Judy Bachicha and husband Dan of Minnesota; sister: Elaine Gold and husband Nash of Las Vegas; brother: Jake Jaramillo and wife Sheila of Albuquerque; brother: Charles Jaramillo and wife Yvette of Las Vegas; sister-in-law: Isabel Jaramillo of Las Vegas; granddaughter: Alyssa Olguin of Santa Fe; grandson: Iseah Olguin of Santa Fe; grandsons: Jayden Jaramillo and Joshua Jaramillo of Albuquerque; numerous nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place. Rosary devotional services will be conducted at 7 p.m. on Thursday at the Immaculate Conception Church in Las Vegas. Funeral services will be conducted at 9 a.m. on Friday at the Immaculate Conception Church in Las Vegas with Father George V. Salazar as celebrant. Committal services will be held at 9:45 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 3 at the Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe. Serving as honorary bearers will be Anthony Jaramillo Jr., Leroy Jaramillo, Dan Bachicha, Nash Gold, Jake Jaramillo and Charles Jaramillo.
