Retired Chief David Earl Anderson (USN) passed away on Sunday, May 25, 2014.

Born in Burwell, NE, July 23, 1941, he proudly served 21 years in the United States Navy with four distinguished combat tours of service in Viet Nam. The Armand Hammer United World College of the American West saw him give 18 years of his life there in their maintenance department.

He was preceded in death by his mother: Virginia Rose Anderson; father: Donald Earl Anderson; mother: Beth L. Anderson; brother: Donald Hemmett Anderson and nieces: Joslyn Anderson.

David is survived by his wife of 44 years, Jacqueline Louis Anderson; sister, Beth Roberts and husband, Kenneth, of Hildreth, NE; son, David Michael Anderson; grandson, Asa Alexander Anderson; granddaughter, Paloma Elizabeth Martin of Gallup; daughter-in-law, Nellie Price; sister-in-law, Julia Scott, along with numerous nieces, nephew and cousins.

Services will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday at Rogers Mortuary Chapel in Las Vegas. There will be a reception following at 11 a.m. at Eagles. A funeral procession will leave Rogers at 1:30 p.m. to take CPO Anderson to his final rest at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be: David Whorton, Tom Barron, Carlos Thomas, Antonio Trujillo, Mike Sanchez, Clark Starr, with Phil Marquez. Serving as Honorary pallbearers will be Carlos Lopez and Abelino Walton.
