Henry Joseph Baca passed away peacefully at his home in El Paso, Texas on Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley, and daughter, Gabrielle Nicole Baca, of El Paso; parents, Sacramento H. Baca and Bertha Rose Baca of Sabinoso; sister, K. Elaine Baca of Las Vegas; brothers, John Matthew Baca (Jennifer) of Roy, Fr. Jamie D. Baca, CSP of Austin, Texas; and Jason S. Baca of Sabinoso; nephews, Samson and Shane Baca of Roy; nieces, Selma Rose and Sylviana Baca of Roy.

He was preceded in death by grandparents, Sacramento Baca and Ane L. Baca of Sabinoso; Rogerio and Josephine Gonzales of Mills; uncles, Charlie Baca of Pueblo, Colo., Mike Baca of Albuquerque, and Leroy Baca of Santa Fe.

Henry was raised in Roy and his beloved ranch in Sabinoso. He graduated with honors from the Roy Municipal Schools and then from the University of Notre Dame. He followed through with a juris doctorate from the University of New Mexico and established a private practice in Las Cruces as an attorney at law.

The rosary and viewing will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Hillcrest Funeral Home in El Paso and the mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Luke's Catholic Church.

Cremation has taken place and private disposition will be determined for a later date.
