Anita E. "Tiny" Wiggins, 93, a member of a pioneer Wagon Mound ranching family, passed away on Thursday at the Colfax General Long Term Facility in Springer.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Wiggins; her parents, Phillip and Bessie Patino; two sons, Robert and Dale Wiggins; a daughter, Betty Garrett, and two sisters, Marie Belt and Jean Gordon.
She is survived by one daughter, Linda Bauler of Thatcher, Ariz.; two sons, Charles Wiggins and wife, Faye, of Roswell and Gerald Wiggins and wife, Mary, of Roswell and 12 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was born in Brandon, Colo. on Aug. 28, 1920. She was a 1938 graduate of Wagon Mound High School and married Donald Wiggins in August of 1939. She was as ranch wife in Wagon Mound for 73 years and at the age of 80 moved to Springer.
Her hobbies were leatherwork, tending to her garden of flowers, beans, corn and squash. She took flying lessons and welding classes in her 70's. She had her teepee and drove a Model A in parades. She took an interest in the Santa Fe Trail Association and loved to crochet and make quilts. Her favorite things were Minnie's tacos, the color purple, snakes, butterflies, and aeronautics.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. today (Monday) in the Wagon Mound High School Gymnasium. The interment will follow in the Hillside Cemetery in Wagon Mound with the following serving as casket bearers: Brian Ediger, Gerald Wiggins, Matt Wiggins, Branden Wiggins, Donald Wiggins, Mark Phillips.
