Antonia Maes, 99, a resident of Las Vegas, New Mexico, died on Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012 in Las Vegas.

She was born on June 13, 1913 in El Ojo del Caballo, N.M., to Felipe Aveita and Maria Laura Martinez-Aveita.
She was preceded in death by all her brothers and sisters; husband: Cipriano Maes; grandson: Marshall Gutierrez; and various nieces and nephews.
She liked canning, gardening, crocheting, loved music, visiting family and friends. She worked at the Javal Factory as an inspector.
She is survived by her sister: Cecilia Peña of Las Vegas; son: Gilbert Abeyta of Las Vegas; and daughter: Mary Gutierrez of Las Vegas.
Public viewing was held from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday at Rogers Chapel in Las Vegas.
Rosary services were held at 7 p.m. on Sunday at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Las Vegas.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. today (Monday) with Father Douglas Mitchell as celebrant. Interment will follow at the Socieda de San Antonio in Upper town.
Arrangements are under the direction of Rogers Mortuary.
