Antonio J. Montaño (Tony), 66, a recent resident of El Paso, Texas, passed away on Feb. 14, 2014, at Providence Memorial Hospital, of a sudden illness.

He was born Jan. 21, 1948, to Tony L. Montaño and Amelia H. Montaño. He was united in marriage to Maxine McAlexander on Nov. 22, 2007.
He is preceded in death by his father, Tony L. Montaño and brother- in-law, Joe Martinez.
He is survived by his wife, Maxine; his mother, Amelia H. Montaño; his brother, Frank Montaño and wife, Yvonne; sister, Gloria Martinez of Las Vegas; three sons, Tony, Daniel, and Richard Montaño; two daughters, Deanna and Felecia Montaño; two stepdaughters Cyndra Mercier and Christina Hatcher of California and numerous grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He had two very special friends, Bobby Montoya of Albuquerque and John Lopez of California.
Tony worked at the Montaña de Fibre Plant here in Las Vegas as a supervisor. He was a welder by profession. He was a welding instructor for Luna Community College at Springer and Le Mar Community College in Colorado.
Cremation has taken place and no services planned at his request.
