Arlene "Teeta" Stevens, 77, a resident of San Antonio, Texas, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013, in San Antonio, Texas following a brief illness.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred E. and Gertrude M. Rogers and her brothers, Alfred Jr, Leroy C., and Monty Rogers.

She is survived by one daughter, Tracy Schillerstrom and husband, Jason; two sons, Sean Stevens and wife, Enrica, and Scott Stevens and wife, Emily; a brother, Billy Rogers and wife, Brenda; a sister-in-law, Sally Miller; and five grandchildren.

She was born in Las Vegas on July 29, 1936. She graduated from Las Vegas High School and received her RN at Northwest Texas Hospital in Amarillo, Texas. She was the operating room supervisor at St. Anthony's Hospital and she continued her career working for hospitals in the San Antonio area.

"Teeta" will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother, a fierce friend and skilled nurse. She built her life around her family beginning with the family of her childhood in Las Vegas and making her home in Texas to raise her own family in San Antonio.

Throughout her life, she was always happiest surrounded by her children and grandchildren during family gatherings and holidays.

She always wanted to give her children the skills and abilities to begin their lives as adults and with all her children married with happy families of their own, one son - a lawyer, her daughter - a doctor, and another son - a technology professional, she accomplished life's goals.
