Cleo M. Duran, born in Los Torres on April 1, 1921, passed away peacefully in her family home on Monday, July 8, 2013.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Doroteo Duran; her parents, Gabriel and Lucia Montaño; her children, Johnny, Lucy and Betty Duran; brothers, Luis, Lloyd and Nick Montaño; sisters, Agneda Garcia and Elvira Crespin and son-in-law, Gilbert F. Lucero.
She is survived by her children, Blas Duran (Bertha), Rita D. Lucero, JoAnn Vigil (Peter), Bernice Hughes (Conrad), Nancy Martinez (Richard), Dorothy Alexander, Rosann Saiz (Lawrence), Louise D. Gonzales, Judy Muniz (Fred). She is also survived by brother, Sostenes Montaño (Dorothy), 23 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren and numerous special nieces and nephews.
Cleo was a lifelong Catholic and member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church.
Funeral services for Cleo will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Church as follows: Rosary was to begin at 7 p.m., Thursday. The mass of Christian burial will be celebrated by Father Mitchell at 9 a.m., Friday. Internment will follow the mass at the San Antonio Cemetery in El Porvenir.
Serving as pallbearers will be, Eric Lucero, Mark Vigil, Gabriel Duran, Levi Martinez, William Saiz, Thomas Gonzales, Adam Muniz and Nick Sena. Honorary pallbearers will be her remaining grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
