On Thursday, Sept. 26, 2013, our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother Cruzita M. Ortega, 85, passed from this world into the open arms of our Lord.

Cruzita M. Ortega was a former resident of Las Vegas for many years and for the past few years resided in Dallas, Texas. Cruzita was born on May 3, 1928, in Las Vegas to Eusebio Segura and Floripa Chavez. Cruzita graduated from East Las Vegas High School, (Robertson High School) and studied at New Mexico Highlands University for a short time.

She loved her family, loved life, loved to dance and sing, loved red and pink roses, loved watching the Dallas Cowboys and John Wayne movies. Above all, she enjoyed working with her dad and mom at Saibe's Confectionary on Bridge Street in Las Vegas.

She always enjoyed visiting and talking with everyone she met. She will be greatly missed.

Cruzita was preceded in death by her great- grandson, Baby Jordan Andres Ortega; sisters, Mary E. Flynt, and Dolores Segura; brother, Martin Segura; parents, Eusebio Segura Sr. and Floripa Segura; beloved husband, Jose Benny Ortega, and in-laws, Benjamin and Eufemia Ortega.
