Donaciano "Chano" Estrada, age 77, a longtime resident of Las Vegas, N.M., passed away on Monday, Aug. 6, 2018, in Albuquerque, N.M.
He was born on April 16, 1941, in Trujillo, N.M., to his parents Alejandro Estrada and Celestina Romero- Estrada.
He was united in marriage to the late Rosa Vigil-Estrada on July 30, 1977, at St. Gertrude Church in Mora, N.M.
He was a Catholic, and a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Las Vegas, N.M. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.
He was known as a hardworking man, best adviser, a good listener, and was a very calm person. Enjoyed dancing, listening to music, and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Alejandro and Celestina Estrada; wife, Rosa Estrada; and brothers Emilio Romero, Eloy Estrada, Eduardo Estrada, Luis Estrada, and Damacio Estrada.
He is survived by his sons and daughters Marvin Estrada of Bernalillo, N.M; Jeanette Gutierrez (Ernest) of Wagon Mound, N.M.; Theresa Estrada of La Cueva, N.M.; Don Robert Estrada (Angelina) of Albuquerque, N.M.; grandson raised as a son Adrian Estrada (Germaine) of Las Vegas, N.M.; grandchildren Melinda, Agnes (Brian), Amanda (Alex), Nathan, D'Anna, David (Amari), Vidal, Ariana, and Ariella; 15 great-grandchildren; sister Frances Minjarez of Pueblo, Colorado; sisters-in-law Seniada Medina (Alex) of Burns, Wyoming; Martha Casias (Juan) of Albuquerque, N.M.; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
A rosary will be recited on Friday, Aug. 10, 2018, at 7 p.m. Funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, Aug. 11, 2018, at 9:30 a.m., with both services to be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Las Vegas with Father Eulalio Arteaga as Celebrant
Casket bearers will be Luis Silva, George De Herrera, David Hare Jr., Trini Garcia, Larry Vigil, Chris Montoya, and Leroy Vigil. Honorary bearers will be Joe Estrada, Reynaldo Gurule, Juan Casias, and Silas Vasquez.
Cremation will take place after the services, and burial of cremains will be held a later date at La Cueva Cemetery in La Cueva, N.M.
