Edmundo "Eddie" Ulibarri, 80, passed away on Monday, Aug. 12, 2013, in Las Vegas.

He was born in Las Vegas on June 2, 1933, to the late Pete Ulibarri and Eugenia Jimenez-Ulibarri.

He was united in marriage on June 30, 1956, to the late Guadalupe Tita Romero-Ulibarri.

Eddie was a Korean War veteran; he served in the United States Army as a private from July 1953 to May 1955.

He worked at Gambles as a tire specialist for many years. He also worked at Tru-Parts for 20 years as a small engine mechanic.

He was married to Guadalupe for 54 years. He loved to hunt, fish, camp, ride his 4-wheeler and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Eddie enjoyed his little farm with all his animals. He retired from Tru-Parts and continued working on small engines from home as a hobby.

A lifetime Catholic, he was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Pete and Eugenia Ulibarri; and wife, Guadalupe Tita Ulibarri.

He is survived by his son, Edmundo Jr., and wife, Alejandra; granddaughter: Andrea; grandson, Edmundo III, all of Las Vegas; brothers, Georgie Ulibarri of Denver, Colo., Tony Martinez and wife, Viola, of Albuquerque, Carlos Martinez of Las Vegas, Herman Martinez of Albuquerque; sister, Arleen Gomez and husband, Albert, of Denver, Colo.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Virginia Martinez of Santa Clara, Calif., Luis Romero of Oakland, Calif., Dora Maestas and husband Ralph of Albuquerque, Carla Romero of Rawlins, Wyo.; close friends, Joseph Leger and wife, Jennifer, of Las Vegas; numerous nieces, nephews, God-children, other relatives and many friends.

Rosary services will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Las Vegas with funeral services to be held at 9 a.m. Friday with Father Douglas Mitchell as celebrant. Interment will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Serving as casket bearers: Edmundo Ulibarri III, Dino Martinez, Joe Leger, Ron Rivera, Pat Alirez and Leroy Sandoval. Serving as honorary bearers: Timo Valerio, Ed Davis, George Ulibarri Jr., Kelly Brow and Leroy Gonzales.
