Ernesto "Tex" Jaramillo, 80, a longtime resident of Las Vegas passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012.

He was born in Trujillo on June 10, 1932 to the late Amado Jaramillo and Maclovia Maestas-Jaramillo
He enjoyed mechanic work and joking around with his grandchildren and had nicknames for all of them. He also enjoyed taking care of his pets.
A lifetime Catholic, he was a member of Immaculate Conception Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Amado and Maclovia Jaramillo; sister, Barbara Jaramillo; brothers, Lorenzo and Joe Jaramillo; great-grandson, Anthony Jaramillo III.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Rosa A. Jaramillo, of the family home; children, Ray V. Jaramillo of Las Vegas, Ernest F. Jaramillo and his wife, Theresa, of Romeroville, Anthony E. Jaramillo and his wife, Joann, of Rio Rancho, Diana J. Jaramillo of Las Vegas; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Pablo Jaramillo from Oklahoma City; sister-in-law, Estefana Martinez of Las Vegas; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Rosary devotional services will be held at 7 p.m. today (Monday) at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Las Vegas.
Funeral services will be conducted at 9 a.m. on Tuesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Las Vegas with Father George V. Salazar as celebrant. Interment will be at St. Anthony's cemetery in Las Vegas with the following serving as casket bearers: Anthony E. Jaramillo Jr., Sean K. Jaramillo Jr., Sevastian Bustamante, Jason A. Jaramillo, Brandin Herrera and Benjie Torres. Serving as honorary bearers will be: Julian Bustamante Sr., Nathan Martinez, Kenny Maestas, Raymond Martinez, Julian Bustamante Jr., Thomas Vigil and Alfonso Torres.
