Garfield was a very proud father and grandfather. He had a very special love for his grandchildren and great-grand-daughter. He served our country in Vietnam 1967-1969. He was most proud of being able to serve in the Army. His medals he received include the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnamese Service Medal, Vietnamese Campaign Medal, Combat Infantrymen Badge, Purple Heart w/1OLC, Army Commendation Medal and a Good Conduct Medal.
He was a loving father, brother, son, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He was very proud of his classic cars, garden, lawn and loved just tinkering in his garage. He loved his mother and father and he was their caretaker until his father passed and has been his mother's caretaker until he passed.
