George B. Fidel Jr., beloved son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, friend, parishioner, and co-worker was called by Our Lord on Sunday, March 24, 2013.

He was born to George Fidel Sr. and Malvina Jabbour Fidel who immigrated from Roumieh, Lebanon to America Dec. 22, 1920.
George was the youngest of nine children.

George was an educator of the West Las Vegas School District for 30 years from 1961-91. He was an Extra-Ordinary Minister of Holy Communion at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, serving his parish and the home- bound of his community. He loved family gatherings, playing the guitar and violin, singing, planting, gardening, and traveling. He lived a Catholic Christian life, always considerate of others and always willing to help those in need. He will be greatly missed by all.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George Fidel Sr. and Malvina Jabbour Fidel; sisters, Gloria Urioste, Angela Fidel, Victoria Fidel, Mildred Canon and Mary Hanosh; brother, Leo Fidel; and infant brother, Joseph Fidel.

He is survived by his sister, Adelina Carabajal and husband Elfigo of Bosque Farms; sister-in-law: Rita Fidel of Las Vegas; nieces and nephews, Consuelo Chriss and family, Joseph Hanosh and family; Stephanie Hanosh and family, George Hanosh and family, Jean Marie Hanosh; Wayne Canon and family, Malvina Toleman and family, Theresa Martinez and family, Gloria Medina and family, Lourise Fidel and family, Matthew Fidel and family, Katherine Chavez and family, Deacon James Carabajal and family, Victoria Trujillo and family; numerous great nieces, nephews, other relatives and all of George's dear friends.

Rosary services will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Las Vegas. Mass of Christian burial will be conducted at 9 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church with Father George V. Salazar as celebrant.

Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Las Vegas with the following serving as casket bearers: Elfigo Carabajal, Wayne Canon, Matthew Fidel, Joseph K. Hanosh Jr., Christian Carabajal, Christopher Trujillo. Serving as honorary bearers: George Hanosh, Andrew Hanosh, Chance Canon, Floyd Romero, John Paul Martinez, Mark Urioste, Phillip Urioste, Glenn Chriss, Frederick Chriss, Mike Lopez, Mark C de Baca, Leroy "Caro" Armijo and all his remaining nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
