Georgina "Jody" Roybal, 69, a lifetime resident of Las Vegas, passed away on Friday, Aug. 23, 2013, at her home in Las Vegas.

She was born in Farley on Sept. 21, 1943, to her parents, Jose Manuel Medina and Antonia Frances Martinez Medina.

She worked at the Hillcrest Restaurant as a chef. A Catholic, and attended the Immaculate Conception Church in Las Vegas. She also was a member of the Senior Citizens.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and also by her brother, Paul Medina who passed away on Sept. 13, 2004.

She is survived by her son, Kenneth Maestas and wife, Flora, of Las Vegas; daughter, Monica O'Malley of Albuquerque; father of her children, Felix Maestas of Clayton; grandchildren, Cynthia Lujan and husband, B.J., Heather Maestas, and Kendra Maestas all of Clayton, Melaque Webster of House, Clarence Romero Jr., and wife, Valerie, Stephanie Romero and Eian Griego of Las Vegas, and José Morales of Albuquerque; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Stroud of Las Vegas, and Juanita Dominguez and husband, Freddie, of Rio Rancho; brother, Raymond Medina and wife, Geneva, of Clayton; special friends, Benerito and Teresita Gallegos of Las Vegas; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Public visitation will be held from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. today (Monday) at Rogers Chapel, 600 Reynolds Avenue, Las Vegas.

Rosary services will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday with funeral service to follow at 9:30 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church in Las Vegas with Father George V. Salazar as celebrant Interment will follow at St. Anthony's Cemetery in Las Vegas with the following to serve as casket bearers: B.J. Lujan, David Matthew Stroud, Aaron Stroud, Sam Stroud, Anthony Medina and James Gallegos. Honorary bearers will be: Clarence Romero Jr., Eian Griego, Cynthia Lujan, Heather Maestas and Kendra Maestas.
