Jolan Zold, 93, of Albuquerque, N.M., and formerly of Las Vegas, N.M., passed away peacefully in her home June 13, 2018. She is predeceased by her husband, Dr. Laszlo Zold.

Jolan was born in Cluj, Romania, on Aug. 29, 1924, and married "Doc" in 1951.She escaped from her homeland following the Hungarian Revolution of 1956 with Laci, their three children and Laci's mother.
They immigrated to the United States as political refugees arriving in Las Vegas in 1957 and establishing a life for themselves in this new land they would come to love and call home.
The focus of Joli's life was always her family- above all else. She possessed a quiet strength and unusual calm that proved sustaining and nurturing during difficult times.
Her love would be an unwavering foundation of strength and support for her family. She was known for her gentle, warm nature and her compassionate, undying commitment to those she loved.
She will be most remembered for her tenderness, sweet smile, grace, and of course her wonderful homemade cooking. Her lasting legacy will be her unconditional love for her family. She will be dearly missed.
