Lonnie Dewayne "Droop Dog" Baca, age 45, loving son, brother, uncle, nephew and friend and a lifelong resident of Las Vegas, N.M. passed away Saturday, Nov. 4, 2017.
He was born on Nov, 28, 1971 to Dilia Yvonne Baca in Las Vegas. He was a Catholic and a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Las Vegas. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan, loved sports and was a great cook.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Santiago J. and Chonita L. Baca; special uncles: Ernest J. Baca and Juan Baca, Jr.; fiancée: Tenika Varela.
He is survived by his mom: Yvonne Baca and Tony Dimas of Las Vegas; brothers: Bryan Baca and Jeana and family of Las Vegas, and Joshua J. Baca and Jennifer of Alexandria, Va.; uncles Carlos Baca of Las Vegas, Victor J. Baca and Marilyn and family of Albuquerque, N.M., Jonas Baca and Geraldine and family, Michael Baca and family all of Las Vegas, Hubert Baca of Albuquerque, N.M., Mark Baca and Geraldine and family of Las Vegas; special aunt: Frances Gonzales and Anthony and family of Las Vegas; numerous: nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Rosary Services will be held on Thursday, Nov. 9, 2017 at 7 p.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Las Vegas. Funeral Service will be conducted on Friday, Nov. 10, 2017 at 9 a.m .also at Our Lady of Sorrows Church with Father Robert Yaksich as celebrant. Serving as casket bearers will be Bryan Baca, Hubert Baca, Lucas Baca, Andres Gonzales, Nicholas Gonzales, Victor L. Baca, Tony Dimas and Eric Wildenstein. Cremation will take place after services and burial of cremains will follow at a later date at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Las Vegas, N.M. Public viewing will be held on Thursday, Nov. 9, 2017 at Rogers Chapel from 2-5 p.m.
