Lucas Orlando Martinez, 24, a life-long resident of Las Vegas, passed away on Saturday, April 6, 2013.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Nathan, a year ago and his grandfather, Orlando Gold Sr. just last week.
He is survived by his parents, Joseph and Glenna Martinez of Las Vegas; his sister, Kianna Martinez of Las Vegas; his maternal grandmother, Beatrice Gold of Las Vegas; his paternal grandparents, Joe Martinez and Emma Martinez and companion Cleto of Tecolote; his great-grandmother, Lucinda Yara of Las Vegas; his girlfriend, Angelica Ortiz of Las Vegas; an uncle, Orlando Gold Jr. and wife Krista of Las Vegas; a cousin Kassidy Gold of Las Vegas, and numerous other aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was a graduate of West Las Vegas High School in 2007 and for the past year and a half he was a corrections officer working for the Guadalupe GEO Corrections Facility in Santa Rosa. He was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church and was a fun loving gentle guy and enjoyed fishing and cars and was an avid Denver Broncos fan.
Services are being held at Our Lady of Sorrows Church beginning with a rosary at 9 a.m. Wednesday followed by the Mass of Christian Burial. Father C. John Brasher will celebrate the mass. The interment will follow in Mt. Calvary cemetery with the following serving as casket bearers: Dwayne Quintana, Jonathan Varela, David Yara, Santiago Yara, Orlando Gold Jr., Mateo Gold, and Tomas "Mossy" Sedillo.
