Michael Edward Jarrett, 58, of Seguin, Texas, and formerly of Taos, went to be with the Lord at 3:04 p.m., Aug. 29, 2013. Mike was a "military brat" and born in Warrington England, at Burtonwood RAF Air Field where his father was in the United States Air Force as a B-29 pilot. Michael attended the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in Annapolis. Md., and following his term as a ship-man, attended the Asheville Buncombe Culinary School in Asheville, N.C. Michael was a talented chef who loved northern New Mexican cuisine and was famous for his homemade cheesecakes.

He married Deena Allen-Thornton, of Taos, in 1985 in Zapata, Texas.
Michael is preceded in death by his mother, Vessie Jean Jarrett.
He is survived by his father, James L. Jarrett, of Seguin, Texas; former wife, Deena Thornton (Brian) of Taos; son, Travis Jarrett (Celeste), of China Spring, Texas, and daughter, Ashley Jarrett, of Arroyo Hondo/Stillwater, Okla. He is also survived by three brothers, David of College Station, Texas, Steve (Cindy) of Valrico, Fla. and Lee Jarrett of Kyle, Texas.
Graveside services and interment will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013, at 11:30 a.m. at San Geronimo Cemetery in Seguin, Texas.
