Dr. Patricia Manzanares-Gonzales (Dr. PMG) passed away on June 8, 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Dr. Manzanares-Gonzales was preceded in death by her younger sister, Maxine Manzanares; paternal grandmother, Rosana Suazo Manzanares, and parents in-law, Gilbert and Lydia Gonzales.
Dr. PMG is survived by her husband of 36 years, Dr. Felipe Gonzales and children Pilar Gonzales Wennrich and husband Joshua, and son Vidal Gonzales. She is also survived by numerous colleagues, former students, close friends, parientes, comadres and compadres and beloved Godchildren.
At the time of her death, Dr. Manzanares-Gonzales was the Provost and vice-President for Academic Affairs at Western State Colorado University. Prior to this, Dr. PMG was the Dean of the College of Education at Western New Mexico University for seven years and a professor and administrator at New Mexico Highlands University for 16 years. Dr. Manzanares-Gonzales' educational teaching career spanned more than 30 years ranging from elementary to doctoral level.
Memorial services will be held from the Immaculate Conception Church in Las Vegas with a rosary at 7 p.m. today (Wednesday) and the Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. Thursday. Cremation has already taken place.
Dr. Manzanares-Gonzales asks to be forgiven by anyone whom she has offended in this life and expresses forgiveness to those who have offended her.
