On Feb. 12, 2013, after a courageous seven-year battle with cancer, Patrick Eugene Martinez, humbly journeyed to be with his Lord. As he prepared to leave this life of nearly 58 years, he could not help but express his gratitude for the good fortunes, countless adventures (and misadventures), wonderful family and beloved friends with which God had blessed him. Patrick embraced the end with integrity, made his peace with himself, his life and his Maker.
The Guest Book is expired.
In life, Patrick was a modern day Renaissance Man and a brilliant conversationalist who never met a stranger. He was in constant wonder at the beauty and splendor of the world. Patrick's fascination and expertise with trains, railroad lore and railroad history – particularly that of the American Southwest – evolved into an extensive and elaborate model train collection.
Patrick spent much of his life as a gifted and innovative electrician for some of the largest carnivals/amusement parks in the world, including the Ray Cammack Show – RCS. RCS venues have included the Canadian Circuit, New Mexico State Fair, Pima County Fair, Los Angeles County Fair and other exclusive premier dates and venues in California.
Patrick Martinez is survived by his sister, Antonia Sandoval (Lawrence); brothers, Gabriel Martinez and Michael Martinez; special nephew, Cassius Trujillo; special friend and ex-wife, Dixie Martinez and step-daughter Chessica; very dear and special niece, Michelle Sandoval (Chico) and her five step-children, Brandon, Ethan, Alex, Cassie, and Ana Gallegos; countless loyal friends and relatives; and confidant and mentor, Frank Castle.
